The Canterbury and East Kent branch of the English-Speaking Union was supported by the Vocational Service Committee of Canterbury Rotary Club at its public-speaking competition for schools held at the Guildhall, courtesy of the Lord Mayor, Rotarian Harry Cragg.
Refreshments graciously provided by the ladies of the Club’s Inner Wheel, contributed in no small measure to the success of the evening.
Summing up what everyone agreed had been a most interesting event, ESU Branch Chairman Ann Peerless expressed the hope that the Club will continue to be involved in this worthwhile exercise.
