Rotary Christmas Dinner 2014

Almost 100 Rotarians and guests gathered at Darwin College, University of Kent on the evening of December 6th to celebrate the annual Rotary Christmas Party.

The Honoured Guest and after-dinner speaker was Lifetime Honorary Member Lord George Carey. Sadly, his wife Lady Eileen Carey was indisposed. Other honoured guests included Lord Mayor of Canterbury Ann Taylor.

A table collection during the meal raised the sum of over £300 for the President’s Charity (Fifth Trust).

We were entertained by a small, but perfectly formed vocal group consisting of David Flood, Chris Price and Jon Williams, otherwise knows as The Good Gnus.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of prestigious Paul Harris Fellowships to Tony Pomeroy and Leslie Stephenson, for outstanding service to Rotary and the Community.

Among their other Rotary commitments, Tony has been Chairman of the International Service Committee and Leslie has for many years been managing and overseeing the Millennium Scholarship Fund

The presentation of the Paul Harris Fellowships is depicted in the last but one photo below.
