Visitor to our Club from Beirut, Lebanon

It was a great pleasure to welcome an international visitor today to one of our regular meetings – Carmen Chammas, who is a member of the Rotary Club Sahel-Metn in Beirut, Lebanon.

Carmen is visiting Canterbury with her husband (who is also a Rotarian) while her daughter joins the University of Kent at Canterbury (UKC) in order to study for a Masters degree in Psychology.

Carmen’s Rotary Club is based in Beirut, and it cites several areas of focus, including promoting peace and fighting disease, on its website. Carmen is a professional astrologer, TV and radio personality and author; currently she is her Club’s Administrator.

We’re pleased to tell you that Carmen says she had a great visit and loved our club – she hopes to visit again. We look forward to welcoming her back.
