Querns Community Centre is a small charity that works in one of Canterbury’s most deprived areas. They have developed a youth programme called All4Fun (for 7-18 year olds) through which they hope to build resilience and life skills.
The Querns Community Centre charity is governed by a group of local residents based in Canterbury’s Barton Ward and aims to help the local community, especially in areas of deprivation.
The All4Fun project was set up seven years ago for the benefit of local children and young people; in the past they have focussed on sports and drama. This year they planned a residential trip for 20 children and young people to Swattenden, which they hoped would also give some youngsters some respite time.
Following an approach to our Club our Community Service Committee members agreed to give a donation of £200 towards their residential weekend trip. We were delighted to recieve a letter of thanks from Lewis Longley, their Community Development Worker and to hear that the trip took place at the end of August and was much enjoyed by all the youngsters that took part.
