Some Canterbury Rotarians wear purple saris for polio!

On World Polio Day on Saturday three of Canterbury Rotary Clubs’ sari-loving Members decided to support the #purple4polio campaign by wearing purple (-ish) saris!

Many of our Members already wore purple at a recent meeting to raise awareness about polio, but this was a chance to add a bit more vibrancy to these dull autumn days. It’s also timely, because in November we will have two talks bringing a taste of the East to our meetings:  Julie Reza, talking about her life in saris, and Minal Koria talking about Bollywood dancing!

The three Members pictured also deal with much of the social media on behalf of our two clubs (The Rotary Club of Canterbury and the Rotary Club of Canterbury Sunrise), so it’s nice that they organised this together.
