Donation to POWYC for Xmas meal for the elderly

At our meeting yesterday President Neil Fraser was delighted to hand over a cheque for £300 to Joey Wicks, Centre Coordinator of the Prince of Wales Youth Club (POWYC), towards the Christmas meal they plan to hold for the elderly this year.

The POWYC provides an annual Christmas meal to a group of elderly local residents, organising, cooking and serving the meal themselves and giving the ‘guests’ a present.

Our donation was approved by our Community Service Commitee and stengthens the bond that our club has with the Youth Club. Last year we supported the POWYC host the Christmas meal through a joint venture with the Lord Mayor of Canterbury’s Christmas Gift Fund, and we are happy to be giving our support to the youth club again this year.

If you know of anyone else that would like to support this event, please contact us or Joey Wicks at the POWYC.
