Mustard Seed Singers’ concert

A number of Rotarians recently attended a concert given by the Mustard Seed Singers at St Peter’s Methodist Church in Canterbury.

Mustard Seed Singers is a local charity for people with mental health problems and those affected by it (e.g. carers and friends) and promotes well-being. The charity was set up 11 years ago by Elle Caldon and our Rotary Club has supported it over the years.

The musical numbers performed at the concert ranged from popular (from The Lion King) to classical (Brahms), with a great variety of pieces in between.

As well as the Mustard Sees Singers’ performance, Rotarians and other attendees were treated to instrumentals from Alex Caldon on trumpet and his wife Alexandra Caldon on violin – both are professional musicians and gave virtuoso performances.

Speaking amongst themselves afterwards, the Rotarians all felt that every year the choir was improving and this year was better than ever. They greatly enjoyed the evening.

(The programme for this concert showed Canterbury Rotary Club as one of their sponsors, along with the National Lottery and Starbucks, so we were in well known company!)
