Christmas can be a hard time for many families, and it’s because of this that The Lord Mayor of Canterbury’s Christmas Gift Fund was established in 1952. The Charity distrubutes hundreds of grocery parcels to the vulnerable and needy (for instance, the elderly or those who are isolated) in Canterbury and surrounding villages. The Fund benefits local residents and is run by local people. We are looking forward to next year, when the Lord Mayor will be Rotarian Rosemary Doyle, ably assisted by Lady Mayoress Jenny Yonge.
This year several Rotarians from our Club braved the cold to help with the fundraising efforts – though from the picture you’ll see that some might be more used to the cold than others!
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the members of the public who donated to us.
More information about the Fund can be found on the its website.
