Lily planting crocuses!

Members of the community of all ages have been helping us to support the #purple4polio and #endpolionow campaigns by planting some crocuses in local spots.

We recently received a picture of a little girl (photographed by her grandmother) planting some crocus corms in Turner’s Orchard, a Littlebourne village amenity. It was quite lovely and appropriate to learn that the little girl’s name is Lily!

We understand that the Orchard is a mass of daffodils in the Spring with lots of traditional Kent apples and plum trees fruiting later in the summer. We found this website about the venue; perhaps there will be some watercolours of crocuses added to the pictures next year?!

Update: Some crocuses have also been planted by the bus shelter in Littlebourne by Littlebourne Parish Council. Rtn Bob Anderson, who donated them, was delighted to receive a letter of thanks.
