Leonard Rea granted Honorary Membership of our club

President Maxine Blades had great pleasure in visiting veteran Rotarian Leonard Rea the other day to present him with a certificate confirming his award of Honorary Membership of the Rotary Club of Canterbury.

Accompanied by Rotarian Leslie Stephenson, Chair of our Awards Committee, Maxine was pleased to find the nonagenarian Leonard in very good spirits and in better health than previously reported at the club.

Leonard was granted Honorary Membership “in recognition of his meritorious service in the furtherance of Rotary ideals in the service of his family, community and Rotary GB & Ireland”. After receiving his certificate, both he and Leslie reminisced about Rotary adventures, holidays and the various club members they have known over the years.

Leonard was keen to send his best wishes to all members of our club.
