It’s always encouraging to see youngsters that we’ve helped support encourage others – so we were delighted to hear that UK F1 in Schools National Champs LEAF1 have been talking to others about the competition…and have even appeared on the news!
Through our vocational service activities we like to help young people achieve their career goals, and guide and encourage others in their professional development – it’s one of the reasons that we support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and have supported young people in the F1 in Schools Competition.
Regular readers will know that the team that we have supported this year, LEAF1, from Simon Langton School in Canterbury, are this year’s UK F1 in Schools National Champs and that they will be heading to the World Finals later. Recently we learnt that Jaime, Cole, and Piers from the team spoke to a group of Kent grammar school design & technology teachers to get them started with involvement in the project. Zac from the team also gave a CAD (Computer Aided Design) “masterclass”.
A little while ago the team also featured on ITV news – you can see a clip on their Instagram post here.
We’re delighted to hear this and continue to wish them well in the build up to the World Finals.
If you’re keen to encourage youngsters in STEM, or want to help these local youngsters attend the World Finals, you can donate to their GoFundMe appeal here or contact them through their website here.
