Joining Santa on his sleigh drives to help local causes!

Being part of Rotary is a great way of helping out the local community. This year our newest member, Rtn Malini Karani, joined Rotary Club of Canterbury Sunrise’s “Santa’s sleigh” to help collect funds and food for the Air Ambulance and Canterbury Food Bank. She’s shared a little sELFie too!

“Christmas is a joyful and festive time of year,” said Malini, adding “being a part of Santa’s sleigh was a magical experience, especially watching kids interacting with Santa and promising that they had been good. I came across one young boy who said ‘I wanna grow up and be Santa’ which was so adorable!”

Malini volunteered as an elf for a couple of this year’s drives – and seems to have enjoyed the experience, despite the wintery weather: “So many homes are lit up and festive”, she said, adding “so many people come out and give generously. Even in the cold evenings the warmth of the people kept me going and made me feel the Christmas spirit”

Well done to Malini and to all the volunteers in the local area and around the world who have been helping Santa with his collections. And yet again, a big thanks to all that contributed!
