The days are getting shorter and evenings are getting colder and darker – which means it’s time for the annual task of counting our Duck Race ducks back in.
A lot of work goes on behind the scenes each year to put on the Duck Race – now a very popular community event and our major fundraiser. One of the challenges each year is to count the ducks back in.
Last week a group of us gathered together on take on the task of going through the ducks and sorting them into numbered boxes. It can be quite a boring job, but is always helped by a bit of cheerful banter and doughnuts or biscuits! This year we were fortunate to also have bright skies and lovely sunshine. Once again our President Elect, Raj Dasan, was in charge of organising the troops; they were also joined by our President, Maxine Blades.
The ducks will now be stored away safely until next year.

With thanks to all that took part!
