Canterbury’s duck race is back again!

It wasn’t just gardeners that delighted in yesterday’s rain. Our little baby ducks used it as an opportunity for some swimming practice! Their bigger siblings will of course be competing in the duck race on the 11th Sept – put the date in your diaries!

The Rotary Club of Canterbury’s Duck Race will be back again at Westgate Gardens this year on Sunday 11th September with the race starting at 1pm.

As usual, thousands of little yellow ducks will be swimming down the River Stour, sponsored by folk in-and-around Canterbury. Anyone can come and watch the race and cheer on the ducks – which is a fun event for young and old alike. There will be puns galore to RUFFLE your FEATHERS!

Sponsor a duck beforehand to make the race EVEN MORE exciting and also support our fundraising effort*. Why not sponsor a duck for every member of your family to add to the fun?  We will have sponsorship stalls in Whitefriars as usual on the following dates:

  • Saturday 27th August
  • Saturday 3rd September
  • Weds 7th September
  • Saturday 10th September

1st prize: £250

2nd prize: £100

3rd & 4th prizes: £50 gift card

There may be a limited number of ducks available for sponsorship on the day of the race. Rather than risk disappointment, please pop by our stall on one of the above dates.

We’ll also be having Corporate ducks. Companies can sponsor these ducks for £25. Corporate sponsors can contact us via our webpage http://www.rotarycanterbury.org.uk/ or twitter @RotaryCantUK

We look forward to seing you there!

*All profits will support local & international causes that we support!
