At last, our ducks have been given a clean BILL of health and all are now in fine FEATHER for the return of our very popular duck race. Locals need no introDUCKtion to the race – they know that this is a great family-friendly event that sees our little yellow rubber ducks racing from Toddler’s Cove to the bridge near the entrance to Westgate Gardens (near Westgate Towers) in Canterbury.
It’s a great atmosphere and fun for old and young alike. Sponsor a duck beforehand to make the race EVEN MORE exciting and also support our fundraising effort. Why not sponsor a duck for every member of your family to add to the fun?
Individuals can sponsor ducks for £1 each (details of where below). The sponsor of the winning duck (first under the bridge) will get £250, the second place £100. Winners of the third and fourth places will each win a “The Canterbury gift card” for £50, kindly donated by Canterbury Business Improvement District (Canterbury BID). This card can be spent at over 100 businesses in the city.
All profits from the Rotary Duck Race will go to local and international causes supported by the Rotary Club of Canterbury.
We look forward to seeing you at our sponsorship stalls (details below)!

There may be a limited number of ducks available for sponsorship on the day of the race. Rather than risk disappointment, please pop by our stall on one of the above dates.
We’ll also be having Corporate ducks. Companies can sponsor these ducks for £25. The Corporate winner will win a case (6 bottles) of Champagne. Corporate sponsors can contact us via our webpage http://www.rotarycanterbury.org.uk/ or twitter @RotaryCantUK
There’s no need to book to attend the race – just turn up on the day with your friends and family to watch. The race will start at 1pm (FEATHER forecast and conditions and Covid restrictions allowing), but as it’s very popular we advise you get there early.
As usual, there will be lots of QUACKing puns to keep the crowds entertained. We also hope to have some music and a bric-a-bac stall. Come along and have a puntastic time – we’re EGGScited about seeing you there.
