Donations – Aquabox & WaterAid

When we have water at the turn of a tap, or when it’s wet outside, it’s hard to imagine what life is like for those without easy access to clean and safe water. Two international charities address that issue; our club has recently given donations to both.

Aquabox responds to disasters, whether natural or manmade, by sending its AquaFilters and humanitarian aid (the latter including including cooking utensils, hygiene equipment, tools, shelter materials, baby and children’s clothing and educational items) to disaster-hit regions.

WaterAid work with their partners around the world to improve access to clean water, toilets and hygiene. These changes can transform the lives of millions around the world.

We were pleased to be able to support these two charities through the money raised by raffles that take place during our weekly meetings. Our plan is to continue to support these two charities from our raffles.

At each meeting we are fortunate to be provided with jugs of safe, clean water by our caterers – our wish is that everyone around the world could have the same easy access to such water.
