Donation to Transaid to help tackle malaria

It was a pleasure for our International Committee to be able to send off a cheque for £500 to support the work of charity Transaid and their efforts to find methods for rural communities in Zambia to access healthcare.

Earlier this year, Head of Fundraising at Transaid, Florence Bearman, came to one of our meetings to talk about the charity’s work in Zambia. Our international committee thought the presentation excellent and showed strong interest in the ambulance rickshaws which have been trialled in Zambia. They agreed to a donation of £500 that we hope will be match funded by the government of Canada. This should provide the equivalent of two new ambulances.
