Donation to Music4Wellbeing

We’ve been very pleased to be able to support Music4Wellbeing which, as the name suggests, helps those with various life challenges through participation in music and other cultural activities.

Recently, Rtn Deborah Connolly visited Age UK in Canterbury on behalf of our Club to present our cheque to Trish Vella- Burrows, who helps to run Music4Wellbeing. The donation will  fund further ‘Songbird Sessions’ run at the centre.

The Songbird Sessions are run monthly in Canterbury, and are funded jointly by Music 4 Wellbeing (a Community Interest Group), and Age UK. The ‘drop in’ music sessions help people with dementia and other neurological conditions, and their carers. The sessions are very sociable and great fun!

‘The Songbirds’ group in Canterbury is one of the longest running groups, with some people attending for 6 years,’ Trish said, adding: ‘We rely on charitable funding awards, and so we and our partners Age UK are very grateful to Canterbury Rotary Club for their kind donation’.
