“The Pink Party” is held every two years in Harbledown to raise funds for breast cancer research, and we have helped them before with their fundraising efforts. As before, our Coconut Shy put in an appearance to add to the day’s fun.
This year’s event was a very well attended event with live music and many stalls; fortunately, there was also beautiful weather! According to PP Sidney Denham, who was helping out at the event, the shy mostly kept children amused – “especially cathedral choristers, one of whom won six coconuts (although he very kindly gave three of them back). One Revd Canon was a winner with her first throw!”
The event raised over £1,800 profit on the day, so very well done to all involved!
If you think our shy might help a charity fundraiser that you plan to hold in or near Canterbury, do please contact us, allowing plenty of time for suitable permissions to be sought and arrangements to be made.
