Lunchtime presentation: Chris Crooks, ‘Verging on the Impossible’

The Vesturer of Canterbury Cathedral, Chris Crooks, took us on an illuminating journey through the history of cathedrals and their virgers earlier today when he gave a presentation to members of our club.

Chris outlined the many and varied responsibilities that virgers carry out in the course of their duties. It was very interesting to get a behind-the-scenes peek from Chris into all manner of things – from setting out chairs to greeting VIP visitors.
