About eighty homeless people are sleeping in the open in Canterbury. The Community Service Committee is concerned that Catching Lives has a shortfall of £4,000 which is needed to support weekend opening of the night shelters in local churches during the cold weather.

David Barton (right) and David Lewis (left) presented a cheque for £1,000 to James Duff the Catching Lives Chairman of Trustees on 29th January at their premises in Station Road East. With other donations this will enable the night shelters to open at weekends in the cold weather. The photograph was taken by David’s granddaughter Sophia Barton
