Vocational Visit to Parker Steel

On November 12th 2008 a group of 12 Rotarians and one Inner Wheeler visited Parker Steel.

Established in 1904 Parkers have grown to be one of the UK’s leading steel stockholders and processors with sales of over 90,000 tonnes annually and warehouse stocks of 30,000 tonnes of steel in sheet form, plate, bright, black, stainless steel and also aluminium. Parkers specialise in next-day delivery over most of Southern England and their business is geared around fast turnaround. Customers can also order on-line via very specialised bespoke estimating software.

We were shown a wide range of high-value cutting and handling equipment, including high-power lasers and water-jet cutters, both of which can slice through more than six inches of stainless steel.
