Rotary Supports Young Gymnast

Kezi Gore is a young rhythmic gymnast who only this week (23rd November) featured in the Kentish Gazette (Sports section and back page) for winning the Junior Sports Performer of the Year, presented at Canterbury Sports Awards at Darwin College recently.

We have had her name brought to our attention as a young person with realistic hopes to perhaps compete in the Olympics. She is not a wage earner and all transport, equipment and other costs fall on her parents.

The club’s Community Service Committee has given her £500 which has been matched with a grant from Eastbridge Hospital Master’s Fund (Brother Austin, SSF) for a similar amount. Both grants are by means of encouragement and support in her pursuit of excellence and we wish her every success.
