Cathedral Camps is a charity engaging young volunteers in conservation and preservation programmes in cathedrals and other related buildings of varied faiths. This year Canterbury cathedral hosted a party of 11 young people from Germany, Spain as well as from the UK.
Rotary Club of Canterbury sponsored them and the Lord Mayor hosted a visit to Tower House and displayed the city’s regalia.
Pictured is the Lord Mayor showing the 900 years old burghmote horn, used to summon the bailiffs to the burghmote court – forerunner to the City Council, to one of the volunteers. |
