The Rotary Club of Canterbury “Dear Future Self” Writing Competition for Secondary Schools aims to encourage youngsters to think about how life may change in the future.
The competition, overseen by our Vocational Committee, was run for the first time at the start of 2021, with the prizes being provided by local businesses/individuals. The competition proved so popular that the club decided to repeat it this year.
What is the 2025 challenge?
The 2025 challenge is for students to write a message to their future self which is intended to be delivered and read in 25 years’ time. Entries need to be on one of the three themes set out in the latest competition rules below.
Who can enter?
At the date of submission, all entrants must normally be attending secondary school, 6th form college or equivalent. For further eligibility criteria please see the competition rules below.
How it works:
Entries are made by email.
A panel of judges consider all entries and choose the winning entries.
Prizes:
The prizes are:
- 1st prize: £100
- 2nd prize: £50
- 3rd prize: £25
How to enter:
Note: The deadline for the 2025 competition is the 31st January 2025.
There is no entry fee. All that is necessary is that entries meet the challenge set out in the rules below and comply with those rules.
