Past Presidents fundraise for Lady Mayoress’ Charity

Two Rotary Past Presidents – Viv Pritchard (PP of our Club) and Richard Davis (PP of The Rotary Club of Canterbury Sunrise) joined 33 other riders on the annual bike ride for the Lady Mayoress’ Charity last weekend.

The ride went from Calais to Brussels via Bruges and Antwerp, a total of 180 miles. “It was a challenging but most enjoyable ride for those that took part,” said Viv (who as well as being a Rotarian is also Chairman of the League of Friends of Kent & Canterbury Hospital).

The riders were brilliantly looked after (and fed) by a small team of volunteers, including the very recently retired Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress.

The event was the last fundraising event of a very successful year for the Lady Mayoress’ Charity. The two local charities to benefit from all the year’s efforts are Porchlight and the Pilgrims Hospices. All the riders that took part in the event are very grateful to all their generous sponsors. This sponsorship will result in large donations to the worthy charities.
