Club Service

This committee is the engine-room of the Club. It focuses on strengthening fellowship and ensuring the effective functioning of the club. It organises and co-ordinates our social activities within our Club, and between other local Clubs, to build friendships and relationships for the whole family, not just Rotarians.

We’ve broken down the functions so that as many members as possible are involved with the running of the Club:

  • Dining & Fellowship: we have four more formal (than the rest!) evenings when partners and guests are especially welcomed. For our regular meetings we have a system, for regular attendees, of quarterly payments for the meals.
  • Arranging speakers: at most of the meetings we invite speakers to give a short talk about their specialism. These have included the charities we have supported, e.g. Water Aid, the CAB and a local womans’ refuge, our Hon. Members, i.e. The Lord Mayor, general interests items such as WWII defences in our area, etc.

Public Relations & Communications via internally, a monthly newsletter and externally, using Public Relations.

We have a Registrar to record attendances, an Archivist and a Membership Officer:

We also cover:

    • Sports & Golf
    • Child Protection,
    • Health & Safety ,
    • Training of new members
