Youngsters get a bad press these days – but, as ever, it’s always the minority casting a shadow over the majority. Our experience of young people in Canterbury certainly disproves this perception.
The Rotary Club of Canterbury has made it a key objective to support young people locally. This can be in the form of help for organised youth organisations or support for individuals planning a gap-year expeditions to assisit aid projects in the third-world.
The Club helped run a joint project with other service clubs in the district to raise funds for the Canterbury Sea Cadets and over the years has given several thousands of pounds in grants via its Millennium Scholarship Trust Fund.

The Club’s International Committee and Community Service Committee can also provide support to young people undertaking projects at home and abroad which don’t qualify for the Millennium Scolarship Trust Fund criteria.
