Dear Future Self Writing Competition 2023

We’ve already been in touch with local schools about the launch of our “Dear Future Self” competition. Sharing in case you’ve not heard about it; please spread the word to secondary school-aged youngsters in Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Essex or Surrey

This is an exciting chance for secondary school (or equivalent*) youngsters to write a unique message to their imagined future selves and win a great prize too!

Youngsters: The challenge is to write a message to your future self which is intended to be delivered and read in 25 years’ time.

*Check out the rules here to find more about the subject you need to write on and how to enter. Deadline: 31st January!

This is the third year that we’re running the competition, and we know the judges really enjoy reading all of the entries. There are two categories of entries according to age group, and the prizes for each category are:

  • 1st prize: £250
  • 2nd prize: £100
  • 3rd prize: £50

“I’m very pleased that we are running this competition again,” said Brian Dobinson, a member of our Vocational Committee that runs the event in association with Canterbury Christ Church University. “I’m sure the judges will be looking forward to reading all of the entries!” he added.

You can read about the previous two competitions here and here. This year we are delighted that the event is supported by Leigh’s Foundation

[Look out for news soon about our Innovation Competition – no. 10 this year!]
