St. Nicholas School in Canterbury caters for children with complex learning needs. Our Community Service Committee has provided support (mainly financial) to the school for their outings for many years, in line with the Rotary Kids Out Scheme. For instance, in the past we have helped take the youngsters trampolining. It’s always a great pleasure to help.
On this occasion the group traveled by minibus to “Reindeer Land”. There they visited and fed the Reindeers in their pens. There were lots of other animals to see as well – chickens, pigs, donkeys and sheep. They then visited Santa’s Grotto to see Santa and each youngster received a present from Santa. In total eighteen children and eight carers had a very enjoyable time (despite the cold!), accompanied by two of our members, Maxine Blades and Sidney Denham.
