Dear Future Self Writing Competition 2022

We are really pleased to be launching our “Dear Future Self” writing competition for 2022. This is an exciting chance for secondary school (or equivalent*) youngsters to write a unique message to their imagined future selves.

This will be the second year that we hold this competition, with this years’ challenge being to write about an employment, profession or business.

As before, the competition, overseen by our Vocational Committee, will be run together with Canterbury Christ Church University and will be open to entrants from Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Essex or Surrey.

“The competition last year proved popular with students, teachers and judges, so we are delighted to be able to run the competition once again,” said the main organiser, Rotarian Brian Dobinson. He added: “This year we focus on employment and it will be interesting to see how students imagine employment will have changed”.

*For further details and information about eligibility, other rules etc, please visit this page.

This year there will be two categories of entries:

  • Category a: for those in years up to and including year 9
  • Category b: for those in year 10 and above

The prizes for each category will be:

  • 1st prize: £250
  • 2nd prize: £100
  • 3rd prize: £50

The deadline for entries is 15 January 2022.
