Although not a fundraiser organised through our Club, several of our members went along to support a celebration and fundraiser in July by the Red House Nursing Home for the local branch of the Salvation Army.
As well as fundraising and doing other activities, Rotary is very much about friendship and support for each other. So when Rotarian Rosemarie Morton hosted a “BBQ” at the Red House Nursing Home in early July to raise funds for the Salvation Army and celebrate 38 years of the home serving the Community, a number of Rotarians and their partners were keen to attend the event (which was also open to residents, their families and friends).
As well as a special performance by the Salvation Army band (including popular tunes such as “All Things Bright and Beautiful”) and a speech by David Lewis, also one of our members, the occasion featured Indian dancers and an exciting raffle that raised around £700 (tbc). Well done Rosemarie!
